Social Contribution Activities

The TOKAI Group is committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and contributing to the sustainable development of society by engaging in social contribution activities as a unified group.

Communities Nurturing the Future

Scholarships for Students

For many years, we have been running a scholarship program for university students in Shizuoka Prefecture with the aim of fostering human resources who will contribute to the development of society. In 2021, we expanded the program to cover all of Japan and established the "TOKAI Group Mt. Fujisan Scholarship Foundation" (which changed its name to "TOKAI Group Mirai Support Foundation" in March 2026). The scholarships are provided without repayment obligation, and in 2025, we provided grants to 24 students.

Organizing Local Sports Competitions

With the aim of revitalizing the local community, we actively organize various sports competitions to deepen interaction with local residents and support the formation of healthy communities through sports. In fiscal year 2025, within our group, Tokai GAS held a children's baseball tournament, Nissan Tri Star Construction held both a children's baseball tournament and a basketball tournament, and Kurashiki Cable Television held a softball tournament.

Support for "Shikumi-na," a Children's Social Experience Program in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture

In the social experience curriculum "Shikumi-na" for elementary and junior high school students organized by Fuji City, we offers a program that allows children to experience TOKAI Cable Network’s CATV business. Additionally, in fiscal year 2025, we donated 3 million yen using the Corporate Furusato Nozei (hometown tax donation) system as part of its business initiatives promoting Fuji City as an SDGs Future City.

Communities Engaged in Culture and Sports

With the aim of improving local arts and culture, we have been hosting an "Ode to Joy" Ninth Symphony concert every December since 2010, with participation from the citizens of the prefecture, allowing people who don't usually have many opportunities to attend concerts to enjoy live choral music. In 2025, the concert was held at the Shimizu Cultural Hall MARINART in Shizuoka City, and approximately 1,100 people attended.

Participation in the Shizuoka Festival's " Yozakura Ranbu"

Environmentally Conscious Communities

Implementation of cleaning and disaster prevention activities

We conduct cleaning activities in collaboration with local communities and municipalities in various cities throughout Shizuoka Prefecture and at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
The cleaning activities conducted by TOKAI GAS in the Ishizuhama Disaster Prevention Forest and surrounding coastline in Yaizu City since 2003 are necessary for the growth of the pine trees planted as part of the disaster prevention forest, and contribute to improving regional disaster prevention.

Hot Spring Water Supply to Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture

In 1983, TOKAI GAS signed an agreement to provide mine water (hot spring water) associated with natural gas extraction to Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This hot spring water, named "Yaizu Onsen," is supplied to 12 facilities, including a footbath in front of JR Yaizu Station and nearby hotels and inns, contributing to the revitalization of the Yaizu area.

Campsite Management

In response to a regional revitalization project in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, TOKAI GAS opened "Mt. Bikuishi Quiet Night Campsite" in 2024. Also in the same year, We acquired "Mori no Miyako Narakoko Camp Field" from Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. We operate facilities where everyone can enjoy nature, while also contributing to the revitalization of mountainous and rural areas.

Safe and Secure Communities

Efforts to Prevent Special Fraud

TOKAI Communications, in partnership with the Shizuoka Prefectural Police, is working to prevent special fraud by creating and distributing fraud prevention videos and leaflets in stores, and by having staff provide support for fraud consultations. We are contributing to raising crime prevention awareness among local residents and realizing a safe and secure life.

Installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

Since 2024, AEDs have been available for use by the general public. TOKAI has installed AEDs in all 85 of its business locations nationwide. Our aim is to contribute to ensuring safety and security in the community by creating an environment where not only our employees, but also residents in the surrounding area, can take appropriate life-saving measures in the event of an emergency.

Support Activities in Collaboration with Local Governments (Donation of Emergency Food Supplies, etc.)

TOKAI GAS has signed agreements with Fujieda City, Yaizu City, and Shimada City in Shizuoka Prefecture to donate emergency food supplies in 2025. By donating alpha rice (with approximately one year remaining until its expiration date) annually and providing food support to children's cafeterias and other organizations, Tokai Gas contributes to childcare support, social welfare activities, and the promotion of local communities in collaboration with the government.
